#DontLetMeDown. Musicians play all day long for pilgrims at John LENNON Memorial. And they sing together. The Memorial is located not far from the Dakota building, where Yoko Ono still lives. Hence the "Let Yoko hear you" 😅. One guitar player, Randy, told me Yoko sometimes goes down to the memorial. #Imagine. Reagan came with flowers to John Lennon Memorial before flying back to Denver. She said she "wanted to bring beauty to this site" where fans gather from all over the world. #StrawberryFieldsForever. When the weekend nights come, John Lennon Memorial turns into the place to be for Bernard and his friends. Bernard has gone to Strawberry Fields everyday for the past 25 years to see the Lennon pilgrims. When I interviewed Bernard (pic 2), he said "come back on a Friday, you'll see, it's a party there". So I came back with my friend Foucauld, and we had a blast. #OnThisDay 39 years ago John Lennon was shot dead in New York City. Inspired by this tragic event, Carl Fredrik Reutersward sculpted the Knotted Gun. This anti-gun violence sculpture is on display in the United Nations HQ, a few miles from John Lennon Memorial (see my posts from November 6th about the memorial).
